IRAQ — Christian Freedom International is distributing much needed, lifesaving food, medicine, school supplies, and other essential aid to refugee Christians in Iraq. “The situation is bad,” according to an experienced CFI co-worker on the ground in Iraq. “I have a lot to share with you about the bad condition the Christians are living in and what can we do for them,” reported our CFI co-worker.

For security reasons, CFI cannot disclose names of co-workers or locations of the emergency aid distributions.

More than 125,000 Iraqi Christians have fled their homes in the Nineveh Plains because of ISIS. Many others are internally displaced from the autonomous Kurdistan region of Northern Iraq & from Syria.

According to human rights groups, the Islamic State terror group has executed almost 11,000 men, women, and children across Iraq and Syria since its establishment of a self proclaimed caliphate in June 2014. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights say that at least 3,207 people have been put to death by the Islamic militants in Syria, while another 7,700 have been killed in Iraq.

Iraq’s Christians are facing systematic genocide at the hands of ISIS. Christians are being slaughtered simply because they are Christians. Without help from CFI and other organizations, Iraqi Christians will be wiped out. CFI remains committed to providing a helping hand and effective voice for the Persecuted Church in Iraq and Syria.
