This past Easter Sunday in Lahore, Pakistan, a Muslim suicide bomber killed more than 70 men, women, and children, and injured more than 300 in a Christian targeted bombing during an Easter celebration at a popular local park for Lahore’s Christian community. The devastation of this attack continues as the Pakistani government makes little to no effort to protect or assist Christians and other religious minorities, who are targets of increasing deadly attacks by Muslim groups.
CFI has received word from our co-worker in Lahore of a Pastor and his wife, Pastor and Mrs. Mukhtar, who were severely injured by bomb shrapnel in the attack, and are in desperate need of aid and assistance. Another couple, Mr. Shahid and Mrs. Sonia Shahid were deeply wounded, causing Mr. Shahid to lose his job to provide for his family.
Hundreds of others like Pastor and Mrs. Mukhtar and Mr. and Mrs. Shahid are in urgent need, as Christians are considered second class citizens, and are not able to afford adequate medical care and medication in the Muslim nation of Pakistan. What’s more is that many Christian survivors are not able to afford funeral costs to bury their dead. Please give any amount that you can afford to help our brothers and sisters in Pakistan in their time of great need.
CFI will be providing more updates from the victims of this attack as they are provided to us by our co-worker in Lahore.
